About

Educational Support

Educational language support is the coordinated use of professional interpretation, translation, and ASL services to provide meaningful language access throughout the educational environment, from IEP and Exceptional Children meetings and parent-teacher conferences to enrollment, translated communications, family engagement, and ongoing ASL classroom services. At ILG, these assignments are coordinated according to their educational context, not treated as interchangeable interpreting requests, and because these settings often involve sensitive student and family information, confidentiality and discretion are built into how each assignment is coordinated.

What We Provide

Coordinated language access across the educational environment.

What we provide

Language access that works within district operations.

Colorful ILG icon represented by six human figures around a star, symbolizing community and diversity.
Continuity across the school year.
Where possible, the same interpreter supports the same student, family, or classroom throughout the year, because familiarity with the environment produces better communication outcomes.
Family engagement support.
Parent nights, community events, and family programming coordinated for multilingual audiences.
Coordination with district procedures.
We operate inside district workflows, scheduling protocols, approval processes, and stakeholder communication, not around them.
Ongoing ASL classroom coverage and substitute support.
Coverage designed around the school year, with substitute support so classroom access does not depend on any one person's availability.
Translation of family-facing materials.
Notices, forms, enrollment materials, and other communications translated for the families the district serves.
Interpretation matched to educational context.
IEP meetings, parent conferences, and student support discussions each carry their own dynamics. Interpreters are selected accordingly.
What Clients Say

The IEP team at Lake Wylie Elementary School just completed two initial referral IEP meetings with Lorena and she was FANTASTIC. She was able to help us change documents over into Spanish to better accommodate parents (something we had never been shown before) and went out of her way to WhatsApp a parent who wasn't answering their phone. Thanks to her efforts, we were able to have two successful meetings with maximum parent understanding and clarity. I cannot recommend or thank Lorena enough for her hard work this morning.
